Nose of celery, brioche, strawberry. Fat yet delineated, opulent Chardonnay fruit, fine mousse, hint of milk chocolate on the finish, with a mineral backbone.

Stunning. A great bottle, best of the lot of six I purchased in 2018. Vivid flavors, cashmere textures, and a long, complex finish. This is why you age champagne.
Very nice bottle; complex and deep; the nose is almond croissant, lemon pastry, brioche, some mineral and soil tones; a very textural and rich palate with lots of depth. This has developed more from my prior bottles and its quite nice and still has plenty of life ahead.

Dinner at D Cuisine (Chicago, IL): Huh. Somehow never crossed paths with a bottle of this before. It's a good iteration of Dom -- better than the 2010 and 2013, but obviously nowhere as compelling as the 2008 and 2012. Initially, a bit taut and showing more minerality versus fruit, but this definitely tightened up and gained more balance and depth as it got more air. One that I think is in a bit of an awkward phase right now, probably better to open something like a 2006 instead.

PnP. Very flat and lifeless at first. Needed about an hour to unfurl and really show its stuff. Deliciously creamy mousse, great fruit profile, wonderful acid backbone. This is so immensely pleasurable to drink right now even if it is lacking some of the electricity and depth found in the '08.

Champagne Cornucopia - DP vs Krug MV (Chez D): A hint of a talc character to this? Started a conversation about dosage - this seemed very balanced to me, perhaps the 08 has more potential but now (and who knows for how much longer) this is a much more pleasurable wine.

Pale yellow gold in color, attractive notes of yeast, brioche, red apple, toasted lemon, citrus and limestone. Beautifully moussed, fine bubbles, so pure, so refined, perfect structure, medium bodied, a wonderful mineral coming through in mid-palate, creamy finish with great length. Drinking pleasantly today and will do the same for the next decade. The Dom Pérignon 2009 is all about charm, balance and elegance. Just great!

No notes taken. This has quite some charm, lots of orchard fruit, a fine salinity and some typical brioche and nutty notes. It misses a bit of complexity, but especially sharpness and tension of the better vintages but can for sure climb 1-2pts once it hits maturity. I would cellar the vintage another 10 years at least. 93/94pts today.

J$ brought to our Xmen wine dinner at CHECK a few nites back, and we began the nite with this lovely. Generous aromas of bread and citrus. Medium body, plenty of fruit, not much citrus, if any. Medium acidity, somewhat on the creamy side, with great concentration and complexity. Quite nutty with notes of brioche. My first tasting of the 2009, and I came away very impressed. This wine is drinking wonderfully at the moment, shows great complexity and balance, and is really tasty! Long way to go too, but why wait? It's superb at the moment. Wish I owned some!

Light gold color. Drank a couple glasses over 2 hours. Broght this to Mara for the first of two nights celebrating Scott's birthday. I didn't take any formal notes. This started off a bit underwhelming and it was a little warmer than expected. After getting it chilled back down and having it open for 30 minutes, it really came around. Looking back at my last note 18 months ago, I had a very similar experience. 93+ to 94pts.

Simply stunning. Every time I open a bottle of Dom, I wonder if it is worth it. After I taste it, the answer is always yes. This vintage is no exception. Clear and powerful, structured and nuanced. Delicious.

Straw color with many fine bubbles. Fresh and alive. Citrus tones and yeast on the nose. Fresh acid, Meyer lemon fruit balanced with yeast. Perfect now but will keep some time.

This lovely Dom has evolved and improved considerably since last tasted at release over 5 years ago. Notes of ripe white fruits, freshly baked bread, roasted almonds, and loamy earth. Medium bodied, racy acidity, but with excellence balance and depth. Should continue to improve for years to come!

Light yellow. Fresh seashell nose with pastry dough notes. Very fresh and linear. At 13 years this is halfway to its full development and will just keep getting better. Like most non mature Dom it needed an hour to open up and unfurl but alas was too soon consumed. I have a feeling this will look fantastic in its P2 "deuxieme plenitude" form ie extended lees ageing Dom.

Open and fleshy vintage, more white peach, some raw almond. Quite flinty on the nose, very typical of the house style, with rather firm acidity and a lengthy finish. Delicious wine for an anniversary. Would not revisit for about 3 years.

At a family celebration, Buddina Beach. This wine remains a delightful blend of rich fruit and the fine austerity of DP. The colour remains pale and the nose is lifted with white pear, lemon, apple, wild strawberry, nougat and honey all present. The palate is quite rich but is well balanced by nicely austere minerality and acidity that persists beautifully. This is a fine wine which while not as striking as the 2008 brings tons of immediate pleasure.

Green apple and pear with a good splash of citrus juice. Fine layers of brioche and a whiff of smoke. Drinks fresh thanks to fine acidity with a bit of creaminess to it as well. A great, early drinking DP although lacking the complexity and depth of better vintages.

Tasted double blind. No detailed notes taken. This showed very well. In contrast to other notes here, this bottle was fully open and singing. We all thought this might be a Blanc de Blanc from 2002/04 which shows how well this wine is already integrated today. Round and soft, well-integrated acidity (which could be higher for me but was perfect for others in our group), very fine and elegant mousse. Not as layered and complex as the 2008 but still nice with well-delinated notes of toast, brioche at the centre with some minerality and apple/citrus aromas around it. Impeccably balanced, this is all about charm and sexiness and I would guess definitely an early drinking vintage which will probably not get much better from here. 95 pts for all the hedonistic pleasure.
Decanting: Not decanted, good from the go with little change over time.

Dinner at Sunset (Sunset Terrace): This is the third time round that the 2009 DP has surprised me on the upside. This bottle had a very attractive nose, with ripe lemons and apples and a little topical edge - maybe pineapples - and then a drift of toasty spices. Cloves and cardamom I thought. A very exuberant, assertive nose for such a young DP, and very nice. The palate had a more classic slant to it, with sweet apples and lemons at the fore. Still primary, but showing a surprising clarity and balance, with a nice drop of juicy acidity and a fine round mousse shaping the mouthfeel. There was then a touch of sweet pineapple and a hint of strawberry at the finish, along with a little linger of spice. Not one for the ages maybe, but this was precociously delicious and drinking very well at this early stage of its development.

Full and rich nose. Almost tropical fruit on the nose. Passion fruit and ripe yellow apple. Some white flowers. Medium-fullish, fullish palate. Very creamy. Rich fruitiness of yellow pear and apple. Very good concentration and length. Unfortunately paired against 2005 Comtes de Champagne, Dom Perignon came out as the lesser wine.

Opened this for Super Bowl weekend after finding it in my closet shelf. Questionable storage conditions and provenance led me to think that this bottle was going to be flawed. Perhaps it just hastened the aging as this bottle was beautiful and had almost all the qualities I look for in a perfect bubbly.
Med+ intensity nose, pronounced palette, yeast, toast, pastry, ripe apricot and yellow peaches, honey, almond, pear, lemon peel. Med+ body, med+ acid, dry (but with some slight hint of sweetness), fine delicate mousse. Very smooth and balanced, beautiful Champagne that was just so decadent. Paired with fried chicken. I could not have asked for anything more when I had this, just amazing. 96-97 pts

61s at 61 (Bourbon Steak, Aventura, Florida): Quite a contrast to the ‘09 Cristal alongside it, the ‘09 Dom Pérignon is much more reserved and displays the reductive Dom Pérignon character of coiled acidity, loads of minerals and whispy smoke. It lingers well and while a bit more open than the über-austere ‘08 it will reward quite a bit more time in bottle. A great palate cleanser for a big red wine tasting dinner.

Very enjoyable, but pretty much in line with other recent notes that are looking for more tension and vivacity. (We had a bottle in mid-2019 that was stupendous). Will hold remaining bottles in hopes of more depth.

Three years on from my previous bottle of this. Pale straw. Trademark reductive nose initially, struck match and a whiff of smoke alongside white mushroom and with a little air, some orange essence / oil. Lovely line, this is elegant with some mid palate weight and a slightly unctuous oiliness to the texture. Nicely mineral and long. This is starting to get interesting. ****

A friend opened two of these for a birthday party. Closed on open. Got better over 1.5 hours. The two bottles, drank identically. I don't drink a lot of DP unless its something we're celebrating and need to have a bottle that other guests "recognize" as a fancy bottle. I always feel they're over priced. Mostly drink grower champagnes and this bottle fell well short of other 2009's at half the price. Not a great year but by no means a bad year. Drank simple, short finish, kind of nondescript. Don't know them well enough to know if I time will solve it. For my money I'd spend a bit more and get a Krug NV instead.

Dom Pérignon / Vosne-Romanée Tasting-cum-Lunch (Restaurant Slagerij De Beurs, Amsterdam, NL): Last tasted in 2017, shortly after its release, when I found it underwhelming. It is still quite closed and very tight, with firm acidity and even a hint of greenness, quite remarkable for a “solaire” vintage, good concentration though, clearly needs a lot of time, but I have faith in its potential.

Light gold color. Drank 2 glasses over several hours. Opened this to toast mom and dad on their 90/85th birthday party. This didn't wow me on first opening, but then again, I was a tornado spinning around while hosting. When I had a chance to settle in with my glass I found it more revealing and charming. I think this bottle may have been a bit shut down at the moment though. Still the toast is there on the nose and palate, more linear white fruits, citrus, melon, biscuits and cream, less nutty but still some almonds, limestone and good tartness. This kept getting better and was at its best when we finished off 5 hours later. 93 to start, 94 later.

First I mean no disrespect with my tasting note. I am just being honest with my perceptions.
Please take your sunglasses off when tasting a bottle of 09 DP. I think the glamour of this champagne has carried many tasters away. This champagne is nothing special. Why do you think the price per case was significantly lower than other years. Buy some other French champagnes around 50 dollars and do a blind tasting against the 09 DP and you might be surprised. I find no fault in having fun opening a bottle of DP just because it is a DP. However in my opinion there is nothing special here. Dave
Beautiful bouquet with smoke, minerals and fireworks. On the palate a fantastic and complex bubble. Full bodied, luxurious and complex, Very refined. For me the WOTN.

"The stretch of excellent weather condition of 2009 was unprecedented, and allowed us to explore new frontiers of grape ripeness in Champagne. The vintage offers a taste of the ripest and richest fruit, grapes in their prime, with the promise of the future wine's freshness and energy. The 2009 vintage brings a prodigious, sunny, bold and generous decade to a close."

Not as great as 2008 vintage this is still a benchmark Champagne imo. Zesty, mineral, nice balance of fruity and autolytic flavors, long and deep. Seems more influenced by Chardonnay rather than Pinot Noir. What a fabulous wine, as is always the case when drinking Dom Perignon.

I guess I don't see what others like in this Champagne. My third bottle. Last night it was highly acidic with a bitter finish, lots of over-powering citrus notes. We followed it for over three hours and made sure it was at the right temperature, not too cold. Today, still no improvement. Glad most everyone enjoyed, but this was not for me. Happily only one more bottle in the cellar.
Another very enjoyable bottle of this 2009; it is a ripe and ready Dom, but still full of pleasure; orchard fruits, lees, brioche, and some floral notes. The palate is forward, but has good depth and delivers pure delicious flavors. Excellent and enjoyed by all.

Lemon, apple, some white florals and lime on the nose. Palate is medium intensity, has good fruit presence with enough acid to cut through. Good length and feels well balanced. Not a super long term Dom but gets the job done nicely now.

This was just great. Nice balance among the Pinots and the Chardonnay, not too much yeast or fruit, good weight but not too much. Not too light either. Just so nice to drink a recently released tete de cuvee that has already reached its early drinking window, and though it will undoubtedly improve from here, leaves no regrets about popping the cork today.

My second taste of the 2009. This was really quite surprisingly nice. The nose was attractive, if a tad warmer and richer than I would expect from a young DP, with a toasty, yeasty brioche character wafting out amidst ripe notes of red apples, strawberries and a little touch of florals. The palate was still very young, with a nice amount of bright, but ripe lemony acidity wrapped around a red apple core. There was quite a bit of power and girth on this, decent finish too, with a little touch of toast and minerality. Nowhere near as subtle and elegant as the 2008, but this was pleasing in its own right.

Recently drank the newest release in 2010 and now 2009. The difference is that 2010 is more approachable, rounded and ready while 2009 seem youthful and high acidity. And if I compare 2008, 2009, 2010 to drink now, I will rank them in this order in order 2010, 2008 and lastly 2009.

only because I tasted it alongside the '06 and '04 could I discern it to be young. no advanced flavors, still quite primary, and enjoyable to boot, though I would suggest holding for 5+ year to allow it to develop additional complexity.

Just missing any sort of depth and personality I would expect from such a maison. Regardless of the price, I have just found it very superficial Champagne. Very disappointed. For sure won’t recommend it to my clients!
If compare with Dom vintage 2008 and 2009, I actually prefer 2008. 2009 was released ahead of 2008, which probably means that it was more ready and approachable. The acidity is slightly lower than in 2008, and overall can be consumed now or in the next 10 years.

Too young? Too warm of a year? Just didn’t have the acidity or energy, and in general lacked excitement. Wasn’t bad, but I find the producer gets much better with age...

Light gold. Firm mousse that calmed down after the initial pour. This is so much better than when I had it 2 years ago. Apple and straw notes. Good balance of ripeness and acidity. Fresh and lively. Getting some toasty brioche Dom notes. Not a massive Dom but I think many of us underrated this wine on released as it was rushed out ahead of the 08. Dare I say it is actually drinking better than the 08 right now? Certainly more approachable than its steely and austere older brother! Can be enjoyed with confidence even though a relative baby.
Nothing really to like about this Champagne. No depth or real structure, and a high acidity, bitter back end. Why not buy Bollinger Special Cuvee or Pol Roger "White Foil" and others for less than half the price. Unimpressed and I have the rest of the case to drink. Too bad.

Good classic yeasty nose, some ripe stone fruits, med. full-rich body, a tad bit soft on the palate, good, not great. I was not super keen on this bottling, or maybe it was too cold, outside on the terrace, sometimes difficult to evaluate properly. As one critic stated "a charming, sunshine wine" from a hot vintage. Need to try again. Yarom group outside at Locanda Veneta. 91-92

While not a great Dom, I don't get the 80-89 point scores. I do realize they are written mostly by new members and people with small cellars so I guess they don't get that vintage like this need a little time. I opened this tonight by accident (meant to grab a 2002) and, while young, it is a very nice bottle. I'd let any you have age for another couple years, but it is drinking ok right now. FWIW, the 2002 drinks younger than this by a long shot.

Sooo, the absent-minded Professor (of Pediatrics) left home for the cabin without the '96 Dom we were going to have for New Years. Fortunately the local wine store had a bottle of this. Wife and I agree with prior notes. An excellent Dom with all the correct stuffing. Just not a '96.....

This is very enjoyable. Drinking well young for a Dom and I'd drink these all before broaching a 2008; the nose shows wonderfully ripe orchard fruits, brioche, lees, and candied lemon. The palate is creamy and suave with a lovely feel, good depth, and overall nice balance. Tasty.

Light lemon green in the glass with a highly persistent perlage. Bit more subtle due to the cooler vintage that was 2009. Usually, Dom has this enticing ripeness of fruit that gets me both on the nose and on the palate, but this is one of the rare bottling that doesn't share this trait. Zesty citrus fruit combined with apple and chalk. Quite a high acid strike at first, but mellows down as the wine gets warmer and is paired with food. Medium finish. Enjoyable, but not one of my favorite vintages.
Fine Wines SG - Champagne BYO (Fine Wines SG): Pale lemon and a good brightness. Bit of white flowers, lemon on the nose. Some lemon ripeness, yet a bit light and watery, as if like lemon water or Limoncello. Fair finish though. Honestly disappointed when this was unveiled as the Dom. A consensus in the room was that unlike its lesser Moët & Chandon counterpart which was rocking, it was not ready. At least 10 more years of bottle age might do it justice

Binny's Champagne Gala (Binny's Oakbrook): Two Doms in a matter of weeks: this time not a tiny pour but an absurdly generous one and no line of desperate tipplers to combat to get it. Drank it at SQ first class. Fresh, crisp, grapefruit, almond. Had a vintage 2004 Krug side by side for comparison. The 2004 Krug display toast, cedar, hazelnut, almond, char wood, high acid, medium+ finish, medium+ body. Overall, I prefer the vintage 2004 Krug more, but probably due to the Dom Perignon 2009 being too young and not ready to drink now in my opinion. Will visit this two comparison in future.

Chinese Dinner at Home with Friends: Light gold. Muted mousse. Nose is nicely toasted but fairly simple... comes across as quite post-primary already. Palate is very effervescent and then toasted hazelnuts and white stone fruits. Very toasty. Not a vintage for cellaring but nevertheless a pleasure to drink. Not in the same league as the 1996, 2002 or 2008.

This was the 5th bottle in 4 months drinking them all at dinner at our favorite restaurant in Portugal. This was the last of the 5 and it was a stunner. Creamy, brioche, citrus and drank like a well aged champagne. It was a perfect treat to start our anniversary dinner. Well worth the experience. The key, however, is the consistency across all 5 bottles.

Spritely lemon and white stone fruit core, with hints of banana peel, pumice, quince, and olive oil. Effervescence was a bit aggressive, masking some of the would-be layering of fruit, but the PnP was by way of sabering, so I’m sure that aggravated it a bit more than usual.
Overall this is still a bit linear, but has some great potential. Hold for another 3-5+ years.

Hate to use this word but kind of a clunky wine meaning there are flavors present but no precision. I have no idea if this champagne will straighten out and create lovely secondary flavors down the road. Dug deep to find smoke or nutty flavors but even with persistent coaxing this DP would not reveal those characteristics that I like in some DP’s. As others have stated if the price was lower-a lot lower-then buying a bottle would make sense. Yikes I bought a case of this—hope age will create something more elegant. Dave
Missing the signature flint/matchstick on the nose in this bottle. It presented itself as youthful but open for business. Lemon, white peach, green apple, and sesame notes melded nicely on a soft, medium length finish. This is a drink now and for the next 15 while you wait on the 08s

Always a lovely bottle of Champagne with the additional layers, roundness, and intensity that the '06 desperately needs. That said, give this bottle at least 3-5 more years.
In terms of enjoyment, it's just too far behind the '08. Some people say to drink the '09 as the '08 ages. While that's partially true due to the immense upside of the '08, there's just no reason for me to open any of the '09 right now.
2 bottles and one magnum on this occasion and definitely this is the Dom for the moment , on the money and maybe even at peak now. The lack of the Dom laser like precission and focus helps create a very giving wine now and of course has the signature quality and elegance that only Dom can deliver. Lovely rich depth of flavour, light waxy, honey touches. Great for party of course!

drank on 4th july with friends, no champagne afficianados. delicious, strong flavors, everyone apparently enjoyed it and was duly impressed by the label; but for me, much too young - no smoothness or elegance, bordering on harsh, and as such nowhere near worth the extravagant $160 price, e.g. no more enjoyable now than a $55 dollar Mailly NV rose. will not buy again anytime soon, but I wish I could try it in 10 more years. still it made the desired impression. I agree in a sense with the extremely positive reviews, but mainly if you ignore the price, i.e. it is certainly good but the QPR is abysmal.
This did not perform well against other Champagnes in the tasting. Way too tight, too young. Gave it several hours of air which allowed it to simply peak out of its shell, but not enough to get a real feel for it. Needs time- - no doubt.
Les’s bottle. Extremely young, no development yet, boring. Much more backward than the bottle four months ago. Simple and linear. Usually Dom Pérignon is very consistent despite the gargantuan production.

Zeer fraaie wijn.

Drinking BEAUTIFULLY right now. Satiny mousse, persistent bubbles. Effusively aromatic with notes of lemon curd, apple, bear claw danish, and oyster shells. Lush and generous.

On an SQ flight back from London. This had a nice nose, with limes and lemons dancing around a flasher core of strawberries, and then a tiny touch of sweet floral aromas. The palate was very fresh, with super lively mousse and fresh but gentle acidity lapping against a quite yummy core of lemons, apples, and a hint of red berries. This may not have the effortless, almost beguiling charm of the 2008, but it is yummy, and boy does it slip down easily.

No detailed notes... This was drinking very very well and is very accessible right now. Easily approachable and soft feeling but with enough acidity to hold it up. Crowd pleaser for sure.

congrats J+J: slate color with faint golden tinge, delicate bead. Nose smokey, honey with hint of maple syrup. Palate strongly mineral, some fleshy peach fruit; very nice balance with great power of flavor. The first bottle drained at our tasting, if that tells you how drinkable it was. Very appealing now but obvious upside. 94 pts

very elegant and top crafted, shows powerful minerality, balanced and smoothed acidity, freshness, wonderful notes of apples and white fruit. Classy and very enjoyable. At Locanda Perinella in a sort of farewell dinner with all M's and NB.

Very stylish and refined. This is a mouth-watering Champagne with a satinlike mousse, and a gorgeous mix of lemon curd, lemon peel, oyster shells, white flowers and chalky minerality.Incredibly approachable and truly delicious.Simply onfair how quick a bottle like this is empty.A superb wine.It will probably get even better with additional complexity through bottle-age.

Forward nose of apple, marzipan, and yeasty brioche. Plush bead and quite generous mousse with rich flavors of apple and almond. What this lacks in long life it boasts in excellence today. The 2009 Dom Pérignon, released before the 2008 vintage, is the first time in the house's history that cuvées were not released sequentially.

Got the Emirates attendant to save my palate and grab me a glass of 09 Dom out of 1st Class.
The Emirates experience is very good overall. The car service pick up is excellent. The comfort in Business Class is quite spacious and comfortable. Service is good. The food was hit or miss depending on what you ordered. Overall, it could be better. Where they really missed; there were no hot towels before meals, wi-fi horrific and the Business Class wine list needs to be much better.
Green apple, slightly bruised Bosc pear, lime candy, light color citrus blend, pineapple, ginger soda, baguette crust, beautiful firm pronounced chalkiness, penetrating grey volcanic minerals, well done acidity and an elegant, rich, well balanced finish that goes on & on.
Few wines at Tequila Revolucion (Tequila Revolucion): Aromas of slate, lime, mineral and hint of nut. Flavors of lime, slate, some citrus note I can’t identity and mineral. Ends with a long finish of 25-30 seconds with mineral notes. Not creamy but mineral driven with citrus notes. A very nice Dom but nothing like the 2002, my favorite recent vintage.
At Est, Sydney. This remains a thoroughly delicious wine with a fine bead, light straw colour and an immediate nose of white pear, lemon, apple, wild strawberry, nougat and honey. The palate is flavoursome yet still properly austere with plenty of presence and weight. It is thoroughly delicious now yet should hold for many years.

I hosted our company dinner party last night and ordered a bottle of Bollinger. They came to the table with Veuve Clicquot. Well, while VC is ok, it was not the level I wanted to offer my staff. I wanted something I thought was special (not that VC isn't, it just wasn't what I wanted). So I look on the menu and the only option was DP. So they bring the DP and it is the 09 vintage which I had not had as yet.
Well, all the others sharing notes are correct, young but extremely approachable, creamy full mouth feel with great balance in minerality, fruit of apricot and peach with great structure and a lingering after taste. GREAT DP with a long life ahead.
Close to my 12/21/2018 experience/notes. Really great stuff at such a young age. Nice balance, nice youthful flavors. Nothing out of place. Just a friendly, celebratory wine. Not overly complex or contemplative, but simply delicious.
PhD Week in Virginia; 3/16/2019-3/22/2019 (Virginia): Light gold color. Picked this up locally in Williamsburg, a painful retail purchase after buying these from my usual source at a far, far better price. But, we needed another good bottle. Brought this to my son's PhD after party at his advisor's home. Shared with a large group of Physics professors and grad students which was pretty darn fun. We toasted Scott's new PhD and this was an apt accompaniment for out toasts. While technically this is young, it really feels ready and was very expressive. Classic Dom really, lemon, toasty, deep and layered, great mousse, excellent length, and a floral top note. This will be a bottle I will remember for what it was and the special significance of the moment.
Bright fruit and yeast on the nose. Great flavors on the palate. Could use a bit more time to develop and gain complexity. Score is based on the potential rather than the current showing.

This was delicious; nose is lovely with bright lemon zest and crushed stone followed by rich apricot and peach notes; lifted floral notes and some brioche. The palate is rich and vinous showing the warmth of the year, but still has very good energy and lift. Still young for sure right now, this should improve for quite a while, but it is quite good now.

Had this on route tonight on the Party bus for dinner at Latour Restaurant @ Crystal Springs Resort with CBCC wine group.
So young and honestly a close rival to the next champagne the Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial NV that I challenge anyone to notice. I am sure that in the long run life the DP clearly ages better given its astringent body. Tonight however it is a mere pedestrian bubbly which is quite approachable. Mainly flavors of brioche, apricot, some hazelnut with a finish which is elegant.

Host of our Air BnB donated the 2nd half of this bottle after they were making mimosas with it to celebrate Alley loop. I think it had been sitting uncorked for about 4 hours by the time I tasted so aroma was down. Asian Pear and lemon peel flavors, Med-high acidity. Med-low sweetness. Stronger astringency than perhaps I would’ve expected but less dry mouthfeel than perhaps I would’ve expected.

1961 in Florida (Cafe Maxx, Pompano Beach, Florida): I like this better for drinking today than the lean and citric 2008 version for its immediate drink ability. Less taut, more relaxed, slightly more advanced. Still very young of course and will surely fill out over the years. Nicely wheaty, well balanced, medium acidity. I suppose in 30 years the ‘08 might the be more interesting one of the pair but who cares?
Sure, it is rich and easygoing, but my gosh it is so delicious. I think that the richness and succulence just made me forget about complex details, but they are there. Refreshing citrus, citrus peel, bright light sweet mineral, some aromatic bitters, and toasted fresh bread. The wine had some Riesling-like qualities, but remained plenty dry. I liked this a ton as well.

I always struggle with young Dom. To me this was very similar to a number of the other champagnes we had on the table at a 2-3x mark-up. A bit bland. Totally fine. Good bubbles, but not as much interesting on the flavor profile. I suspect though with some time we'd see that change. Could also just be a bit tight (although the Tatt had a feeling of more concentration below the surface than this did).

Wow, this was great. Streamlined palate, very clear and direct, lemon-lime notes on the palate, very fresh, great acids, very tiny bead. I haven't had a Champagne this lean, fresh and laser-focused in quite some time. Andy's bottle, enjoyed New Years Day and a few nights thereafter, with no degradation until the third night when it was a bit flat.

Exotic, breezy nose. Buttered brioche, apricot, white currant, blueberry, lime, honey, hazelnut, flint and panna cotta. Finely layered. And so balanced. Elegant, refreshing hazelnut laced drive. With honeyed lime, redcurrant, brioche and vanilla. Creamy, velvety mouse. And a beautiful, spicy, mineral finish. So much detail. So well balanced.
Drink 2018-2030. A Wozza 96/100 (4.4/5.0) from me.

This was a good dom, I think it just got lost as it was sandwiched between 02 Krug and 08 dom. Fairly classic dom character with toasty and smokey notes, framed by a nice acidity. A little lighter than some other vintages. To me reminiscent of 03 but slightly better finish. Drink these while the 08s mature.

There are those who believe that the 2009 Dom (because it was released before the 2008) is an "early bloomer" that merits immediate consumption. Nothing could be further from the truth. Straw-colored and with a brisk tiny bead, it taunts the taster with notes of citrus, pit fruits, bread dough, marzipan and wet stones, but is still tight as a drum. Medium-bodied, crisply acidic and beautifully vibrant on the palate, it is a delightful elixer but is nowhere near being a headlining act. While delicious this New Year's Eve with Osetra caviar, it will be significantly better when ringing in 2022. Drink 2022-2032.

Simply great! And the winner of a Champagne blind-tasting (although clearly above the price average). Seductive smoky nose, bread crust, brioche, ripe stonefruits as well as a floral and yeasty touch. Deep, long and with a refined Mousseux.

Very pale brass color with few, very fine chains of small bubbles. Much more restrained than expected. Nose has peach, brioche, cedar box, tart lime. Palate has green apple, peach. Delicate mousse with a long finish of caramel and subtle tropical fruits. All of the above flavors have been amplified with my words, trying ardently to detect them. Therefore, not luxurious or memorable and not worth the money. Will look for a better vintage next time.

Opened for Christmas Day the 2009 Dom again opens as a thoroughly delicious wine with a fine bead, light straw colour and an immediate nose of candied pear, lemon, apple, wild strawberry, nougat and honey. The palate is less expressive but has plenty of presence and weight balanced by lovely zippy citrus inflected acid and grape tannin. It is the purity of this wine that lifts it out the pack and suggests it will remain lovely for many years.

From magnum : served too cold, shows good minerality and freshness, no hint of excess acidity although still young. Once temperature has increased, say to 13 celsius, wonderful notes of stronger minerality and apples appear and this DP gets rounder and rounder. Long life ahead but already enjoyable and tasty. At M&S's for pre-Christmas party

Wow. This was just as the tasting notes described. Having had the ‘06 recently, this was indeed rounder, fatter and more masculine. I preferred this to the leaner ‘06. Better days ahead for this bottle too. For years and decades I’d expect.

My goodness, this is truly rocking. What a young, wonderfully drinking thing, especially after a bunch of 2008's that will be awesome in years, this is here and now excellent. Floral, ripe, yet crisp enough. Lightly citrusy, appley (is that a word, it should be?), nutty, etc. In short, yummy (which is, I believe, a synonym for delicious) and quite refreshing.

An initial wave of toasted nuts, brioche, and hot sauna rocks hits the nose, supported by citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon peel and spicy ginger. It is clean and precise, and with some time in the glass the ripeness of the vintage starts to shine with further aromas of pear, peach, and passionfruit dusted with icing sugar coming through. On the palate, the same citrus and tropical fruit dances and bitter notes of citrus peel firmly make their presence known. The extra brut dosage is apparent in the powerful acidity that tingles the tongue with a very fine mousse and an outstanding dry finish that lasts easily for over a minute. Big and powerful yet fine and precise.

Part of a champagne tasting this is aged for 9 years and it’s a 50/50 of Pinot and Chard. Light pale with floral aromas along with slight citrus, smoke, shortbread, and lees. Solid champagne with green apple and citrus on the palate with a nice creamy mouse.

Shows the ripeness of the vintage. Quite forward and rich, yellow fruits, floral and bready nose. Some minerality sneaks through the fruit on the palate, solid acidity and no lack of energy on the palate. Too young for me, hands off for 5-10 years at least. 92+

Golden color with light bubbles. Nose golden apple, lightly reductive at first but that fades, some waxy florals. Palate golden fruits, high acidity, brightness, tart lime. 2018 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium – Kelly, RJ, Justin and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/7/2018-11/11/2018 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Based on this particular bottle, the 09 DP seems to gain weight. Expressive nose displaying ripe yellow citrus fruit, lemon curd, also apple, brioche, roasted almond, honeycomb, ginger, smoke and limestone. Excellent concentration, generous fine mousse, nicely layered sweet yellow fruit, rich and creamy, bright acidity, strong mineral and a long sweet yellow fruit and smoke driven finish. Drinking beautifully in a very youthful way. Although I love young DPs, most people find them difficult to appreciate/enjoy. Just like how the opinions have changed favorably for the 02 with age, I am confident that this will also improve in another five to ten years. Very promising.

Dom Perignon Masterclass, " Les Plenitudes of Dom Perignon " with Richard Geoffroy (Decanter FWE, The Landmark hotel, London): Touch more color than the 2008 but also on the light side, glossy and bright though. For Richard Geoffroy this is one of the most aromatically ripe DPs and probably even more than the 2003. And actually the lessons of making 2003 helped them when making 2009. More approachable wine, lush and creamier. On the nose has the signature DP nose that doesnt scream for attention but gains respect with its elegance. On the palate its very energetic, bright and of course precise albeit not the most precise DP. Quite opulent and welcoming as well even at this age, very polished on the acid side. Definitely riper. Small Rhone Tasting w/Aussie Ringer (R&D's): Lot LAJ9P. Light color. Aromas of citrus, apple and ginger. Spiced apple and white flower aromas-something akin to honeysuckle but not quite that sweet. Nose: The nose is fresh and forward with almonds, red apples, vanilla beans, spiced pears, yellow florals, and a good dose of biscuits and warm breads. There is excellent poise and depth with it showing a lot of elegance at this youthful stage.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with high acidity. The acidity is noticeable, but well integrated and refreshing. The feel is elegant and refined with almonds, red apples, vanilla beans, yellow florals, biscuits, and some spiced pears.
Overall: This is drinking extremely well at this time and it feels like there is room for further development. It doesn't feel like it will be a long lived Dom, but it will be one that will provide a lot of joy over the medium-term.

This started off with notes of grilled nuts, yeast extract and white flowers. In the mouth, there is good density, loads of spiced pears, and a touch of orange rind. There is good persistence and complexity as well. That said, I’d prefer a bit more tension and minerality in Dom Perignon, and this bottle was a bit short on that. Still, a very nice Champagne, if not quite as memorable as some of the better vintages here. 92+.

Another damn good bottle of this. Thanks Dennis. Shows the ripeness of the vintage with bright, luscious fruit, but there's also plenty going on behind the fruit with lots of bready richness, a touch of chalky minerality on the back end, and good acidity and effervescence that make it very easy to drink. Very pale. A rather spiky nose: nutty, saline, a bit of citrus. Quite a round and generous palate, with initially a touch of Mandarine Napoléon. Strong acidity, but with air it becomes creamy and quite easygoing. I have to say there's nothing terribly distinctive about this, but it's classic, restrained, and has good bones. I would echo El Paninaro's notes. This is a rich and broad wine. While delicious and moreish, it does lack some of the finer subtleties that DP and other prestige Champagnes can offer. Ripe orchard and citrus fruits with flirtations to the tropical. The nuttiness is sweet, almost cashew-like. Beads aren't as fine as I would expect, but there is a crisp reviving finish that is long lasting. I have hope this might settle down in the future, but it's always going to be a showy, forward style.

Immensely young, but fantastic to drink right now. Layered, powerful, already quite complex with plenty of bready, doughy, and vanilla cream notes around the core of rich fruit, with some chalkiness coming through on the back end. A big wine showing the ripeness of the vintage, but impeccably balanced. Poured this in a wider Burgundy glass, and it became far more fragrant and complex with more air.

bright yellow color, at first quite assertive and big on the palate, very much on the ripe side of the spectrum and bordering on tropical, citrus on the palate- and almost a bit rough and burly at points, some light floral notes, good long acids on the lengthy finish, over the course of 2 hours it settled to some degree showing more of the classic nutty tones, but still on the rich side, this is a very fine Dom and I think it has the structure to go long distance and do well, but it is a bit exotic for me in a way that worked with the Krug MV 165 yet is just not quite my ideal for Dom, comparisons are very difficult- 2002 comes closest, but with the 2009 possessing a more tropical array of fruits, it might yet vault to the top ranks but for now I would say it is a very fine vintage that is just not quite to my personal liking. (****)+, 2030+, attractive now but a long wait to see it cream out.

Nice bottle. Enjoyed right after pop, and again about 30 minutes after pop. Had definitely changed. More of a wholesome mango with some asian pear. I was getting a dry, nutty note towards the middle and finish. Very nice, and definitely youthful. You could hold this bottle for 15 years easily, and not have to worry one bit. Very balanced, structured, yet so so young. I'd rate this a 93 or 94 today, and likely 95-96 in 5-10 years.

At Dom Pérignon. PNP 2000 P2, 2005 Rose and 2009 vintage. P2 2000 and 2005 Rose knocked it out of the park. Haven’t enjoyed Champagne like this in a long time.
Rose- wonderful mandarin orange and biscotti flavors layered innear perfection surrounded by wonderful mineral grain that runs throughout- maybe a hit of smokiness?
P2- last one opened and it was a stunner. Not a DP vintage or champagne loyalist but the P2 and the above mentioned Rose were outstanding. This one didn’t have the orange but had a similar biscotti essence with the same mineral streak. Maybe a bit more mineral but going back and forth between Rose and P2 they both held their own.
2009 vintage- similar to other good years although this one had more Pinot but only aged 7 years or so vs the typical ~9.

In Koi Samui for a friends birthday party. This was served at the correct temperature despite the tropical breezes but I was quite underwhelmed. Decent controlled effervescence but really quite closed and showing little Dom characteristics. No brioche, no Dom power, I felt like it was missing some acidity and energy. Ripe round fruit but again nothing really stood out. Worth waiting a while before retrying this as I feel it is in a sleeping phase. Drink the 04 or 02 right now which is far superior drinking!

I will begin with the overall current impression- very nice, but not as nice as the '04 or '06 imho. In $125 a bottle on sale it is a good find fwiw. I agree with previous tasters regarding the color notes (especially that light green hue 'glow' so to speak), lemon(ish) on palate, hints of pineapple and very small but consistent bubbles.
Would I consider it a high end DP? no. Would I consider it a very good champagne? certainly yes. Would I evaluate it has great aging potential? at this time, I do not think so. I got very different taste on the '04 and '06 on release and I am not sure. At the DP price range there are so far very few outstanding wines in the '09 release. This one is among the first big 'houses' to release the '09. So, we will have to wait and see.
At this time, 58 CT notes gave it a 92.5. I would (score) below that score in terms of 'mass' knowledge.
An example of the so called luminous label, which is downright tacky. The wine, however, is a treat, as always. 2009 was nor a great vintage for champagne, and most large houses are realeasing their prestige wines from the 09 vintage before the 08 vintage. This means that this is a DP at optimal maturity, with all its beauty. Straw yellow with a greenish hue. The bubbles are, as always, perfect: small, persistent and elegant. Wonderfful nose dominated by citrus, green apples, some chalk, honey and a hint of bread. Like velvet in the mouth, the bubbles are caressing, not aggressive as in many other highly priced champagnes. A bit low in acidity, but still the taste is fresh, dominated by citrus and green apples with a clear streak of honey. Long. This is just impressive to drink right now, but I would not keep this for too long. Will keep for at least five more years, but then I guess oxidation will set in. Love this wine.

The 2009 Dom is a thoroughly delicious wine with a fine bead, light straw colour and an immediate nose of candied pear, lemon, apple, wild strawberry, nougat and honey. The palate is less expressive but has plenty of presence and weight balanced by lovely zippy citrus inflected acid and grape tannin. While this may not be a long term Dom it will give great pleasure over the next several years.

Expressive and generous on the nose - ripe, almost candied fruit, floral notes, bread. On the palate a lot less expressive - fresh and vibrant throughout but rather subdued. Nice mineral backbone. The very persistent, lingering finish is very promising. Hold. 92-93+(+)

Green hues on this--very young; pear, pear skin, some yeast-bread dough, hint of fish oil; clean, crisp, chalky, vinous at the same time with a hint of caramel apple, pine nuts; elegant and ethereal, excellent balance of fruit, mineral, and vinous notes; good concentration with a fine mousse, long, but a bit earthy, austere finish. Caramel/bread dough/vinous is from autolysis as this wine touches no oak whatsoever. With Richard Juhlin at Effervescence. original notes were 93-94. I really liked this, but then had this again the next day at the grand tasting and it was completely shut down and have no idea why.

It goes without saying that this is too young ..... That said, had to crack the first bottle to see what was there...... This has a typical Dom nose of lemon, yeast and vanilla. Texture is creamy. Mouse is strong. This comes across as a fairly heavy vintage. Good acidity to keep it all together. Next bottle should be in 5 years but I imagine I will not have the willpower for that. Very good future ahead for this vintage.

Candied lemon peel and tropical fruit nose. Palate has substantial weight but shows more balanced than many young Doms, with nice acidity. High specific gravity from the high dosage, but doesn't come across as too sugary at the moment. Like most young Dom I don't love it today.

Tasted at Ozone in Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong; a bit dull in the nose yet still acidic and packed with lots of fruits on the palate; medium long finish; overall, 90-91 points at this stage; way too young to perform like a Dom Perignon.

Everything you would expect from a very young Champagne - crisp and loads of freshness. Tons of energy and tension. Tiny bubbles galore. Lemon, citrus, yellow and white flowers. Very primary but very enjoyable.

light bubbles that dissipate quickly. slate golden color. Nose initial slight matchstick that fades quickly, then slight marzipan, faint citrus, overall pretty muted/tight. Palate rich, great mouthfeel, bright acidity with a nice lemony note, slight nutty. Overall good complexity and a nice drink at this early point though unsure about the QPR. Will see how it ages. 93 pts

I love Dom, but not young Dom. I do like this. It's got that slightly reductive slate and smoke quality that young Dom does, but there's also some muted citrus fruits poking through. The palate is less giving with a fairly tense mineral component. It's definitely more aggressive, but that's pretty normal. I expect I'll like it more a decade from now and will probably hold most until then, but as far as young Dom goes it's pretty good.

Very fine bubbles, nice depth of color, though otherwise showing it's youth at first. This grew in interest with a bit of air, nice green apple and Chardonnay fruit, and DP muskiness and yeast emerging with time. Reasonable depth, superb balance and structure, there is almost a bit of tannic grip here. Just lacking a bit of complexity and length at this age, but the class is evident and I still enjoyed this, both chilled and as it warmed to room temperature. Difficult to resist, although a second bottle shows a persistent faint note of volatile acetone that detracts.

Meh. A bit on the thin side...flinty brioche with a seltzer note. Atypical DP - lacking weight and tension. Not even comparable to an outstanding 2006 I recently enjoyed. Perhaps some bottle variation after reading other notes.
Haut Brion Vertical -1998 to 2009 (The Grill Room at the Rosewood DC): Very pretty and elegant at the moment. Delicious clean nose displaying lemon, pear, granny smith and mineral. Medium concentration, sweet white fruit driven palate impression, generous amount of very fine mousse, medium acidity, strong mineral presence and a clean and delicate finish. The 06 seemed lighter two years ago so I am hoping that this will also gain weight. For now, more delicate compared to the older brethren. Drinking nicely in a very youthful way.

Had the 09 on a DP tasting w/ Nick Lane (second Chef du cave @ DP) out of magnum.
Didn’t had such a nice DP for a long time. Hit it with drinking not thinking. It is strong on the fruit but with a clear and crispy finish . Not that smokey and full-bodied as 03 but same direction.
Nice brioche, Granny Smith and lemon cest.
Just the length is a bit missing.

We wondered why DP released this so "early" but it's quite obvious from first sip how ready this wine is even for DP standards. Lovely rich and intense mouthfeel , feels a lot older for sure, ripe, a lot less of that laser like focus that DPs have but still a superb wine. Good life ahead but maybe one for earlier drinking. 93-94
Very clean and refreshing nose displaying fresh granny smith, splash of lemon, a very slight hint of pineapple and red currant, sugar stick and limestone. Medium concentration, clean white fruit driven palate impression, very find abundant mousse, creamy, medium acidity, good mineral presence and a clean medium finish. There is a hint of bitterness that I associate with young Dom. This is clean and elegant but a bit straightforward at the moment. Hopefully it will gain some weight and complexity in a few years.

Another indicator that I'm drinking the wrong Champagne for the most part. The mousse here is effortlessly fine and elegant, the balance of primary fruit and secondary fermentation characteristics harmonious...Lovely even in it's relative youth.

Purchased at the winery. A refreshingly light wine with touches of citrus -especially grapefruit. Good bead. Prefer Taittinger's 2006 Champagne Brut BdB Comtes de Champagne because it has a touch of oak and tasted a little more complex.
Winey brochure June 2016 notes, by Richard Geoffroy:
The Season The year began with unfavorable conditions that lasted for some time. A harsh winter was followed by a mild and rainy spring. Flowering turned out to be difficult, and the threat of mildew was high. Storms in July raised fears for grapes’ health. August, however, was perfect. Weather was uninterrupted hot and dry, right up to the harvest, with the unfortunate exception of a hailstorm on September 4 in Hautvillers, Verzenay and Chouilly. The harvest began on September 12 in idyllic conditions. The fruit was magnificently mature and flawlessly healthy. The Pinot Noir grapes had surprisingly little color.
Nose Notes of guava and spice green grapefruit zest combine with stone fruit: white peach and nectarine. The wine opens up, with the whole complemented by woody vanilla and warm, lightly toasted brioche.
Palate The fruit is majestic: ripe, fleshy and profound. Beyond the richness and a certain voluptuousness is a strong impression of consistency that prevails. The wine’s power is remarkably unrestrained. The various sensations – silky, salty, sappy, bitter and briny – converge and persist.

Still quite young and primary, but with loads of potential. Notes of white (citrus) fruits, with hints of brioche and crushed stones. Medium to full bodied, with a nice texture and long and focused finish.

Some recent goodies: Lafon, Bachelet, Dom, Fourrier, Sabine, Special Club; 12/7/2017-12/16/2017: Whooo, yummy, is my first thought! This is delicious and easygoing. This comes across as ripe -for Dom- while still showing dusty stones, dry earth. I dare say there is an ever so slight hint of something tropical on the nose, in a very good way!, but the palate stays, with just hints of sweet, subtle dried lemon, and refreshing juiciness, intermixing with the stones and earth already mentioned.

Popped and poured, light straw/gold. Initial burst of sulfur/matchstick gives way to aromas of lemon, pear, red fruits and just a touch of yeasty dough. Shows quite a bit of Pinot character and becomes increasingly perfumed with air (tinges of ginger even). Even more red-fruited on the palate, which is deceptively structured with the weightless density of archetypal Dom. A delicious vintage of Dom, drinking wonderfully now and should continue to for decades.

Considering the youth of this remarkable Dom, I expected a light color with no hint of amber and a quick finish. Instead, this champagne, maybe because of the extraordinary vintage, is already darker straw/light amber, and that is indicative of the resulting beautiful, complex flavors, long finish and luscious mouth feel. I can't imagine what an incredible champagne this will be out of 750 ml in 10 years, and out of magnum in 20-25 years. No gunsmoke that is characteristic of well aged Dom (and Krug) but beautiful solid champagne, the best I've had this year. Cheers.

Dom Pèrignon Masterclass (Lavinia - Madrid): Pinnate with that menthol effect, citrus fruits and red berries. Also metallic and white bone fruit. Good density. Very long in the mouth, at the same time very young with a noticeable acidity, quite refreshing. Peachy aftertaste. It will be a very good vintage indeed.

2017 K&L Annual Champagne Tasting (K&L San Francisco Store): K&L Champagne Event 2017, nose of smoke, apple, pear, minerals, and toast, same on the palate, medium/big body, seemed young tasting but ready to drink, probably mid term ageing for this Champagne instead of the usual ten years, very tasty, almost elegant, good acid, and a medium/long finish.

I will be generous with my score of this DP not because of its power but because of its balance and elegance. Greenish yellow colors, decent bubbles, the nose is dominated by pears, brioche and green apples with a citrus element. On the palate soft and elegant, great balance given its young age, not so powerful and complex but truly way better than the 2006. Satisfying finish so overall a very nice DP. Not sure about longevity however.

Le Tour de Champagne Tasting (Hotel Intercontinental Amstel, Amsterdam, NL): Trade tasting, brief notes. Closed nose, lacks the toastiness of e.g. the 2006, floral but not a lot of depth or nuance, relatively drying style on the palate, with substantial bitters, good but not excellent length. Quite a disappointment, to be honest. Must retaste.

Dave

Decades of Decadence -- the '9' Edition (Our Favorite Spot in Buellton, CA): Impressive concentration. More smoky than sweet. Additional floral and citrus notes. Very approachable, and a great choice when looking for a robust, powerful style of bubbly.

Dave

I agree in a sense with the extremely positive reviews, but mainly if you ignore the price, i.e. it is certainly good but the QPR is abysmal.

This may not have the effortless, almost beguiling charm of the 2008, but it is yummy, and boy does it slip down easily.

More approachable wine, lush and creamier. On the nose has the signature DP nose that doesnt scream for attention but gains respect with its elegance.

7/14/2018 - Elpaninaro Likes this wine:
bright yellow color, at first quite assertive and big on the palate, very much on the ripe side of the spectrum and bordering on tropical, citrus on the palate- and almost a bit rough and burly at points, some light floral notes, good long acids on the lengthy finish, over the course of 2 hours it settled to some degree showing more of the classic nutty tones, but still on the rich side, this is a very fine Dom and I think it has the structure to go long distance and do well, but it is a bit exotic for me in a way that worked with the Krug MV 165 yet is just not quite my ideal for Dom, comparisons are very difficult- 2002 comes closest, but with the 2009 possessing a more tropical array of fruits, it might yet vault to the top ranks but for now I would say it is a very fine vintage that is just not quite to my personal liking. (****)+, 2030+, attractive now but a long wait to see it cream out.

Ripe round fruit but again nothing really stood out. Worth waiting a while before retrying this as I feel it is in a sleeping phase. Drink the 04 or 02 right now which is far superior drinking!

Had two glasses of this one today (two different bottles, consistent tasting).

Hold. 92-93+(+)

Very light, more mineral than the 2006. Still super super young. I would try not to touch this bottle for 5+ years and see what happens to it.

There is a hint of bitterness that I associate with young Dom. This is clean and elegant but a bit straightforward at the moment. Hopefully it will gain some weight and complexity in a few years.

The Season
The year began with unfavorable conditions that lasted for some time.
Nose
Notes of guava and spice green grapefruit zest combine with stone fruit: white peach and nectarine. The wine opens up, with the whole complemented by woody vanilla and warm, lightly toasted brioche.
Palate
The fruit is majestic: ripe, fleshy and profound. Beyond the richness and a certain voluptuousness is a strong impression of consistency that prevails. The wine’s power is remarkably unrestrained. The various sensations – silky, salty, sappy, bitter and briny – converge and persist.

Cheers.
