Saturday, October 24, 2020 - Medium garnet. Deeply pitched nose of liquorice, cool dark fruit, forest floor, spices. On the palate this wine is a positive surprise. I feared that the combination of Corton and the tannic 2005 vintage would make something difficult to drink. Quite the opposite. The fruit here enters the palate very lush and ripe with tannins polished. Young, but very drinkable now. This is what I like about Tollot-Beat, they make their wines elegant. May be not the last word on complexity but a very pleasant wine. Drink now with a short decant and easily over the next 10 years. 94+
