Monday, November 9, 2020 - Whoa. Stinky feral animale on opening - sweaty saddle, musk, more big cats at the zoo than barnyard. Thankfully calms down to manageable levels after 2 hours in the decanter. Underneath, a mix of bold red and black fruit that duke it out (red fruit wins - pure crancherry fermata on the finish). So complex; feral base note, gamey/iron, vegetable ash, hoisin, leather, chalky minerals, mostly resolved tannins. Compared to the 2003, less acid (though still plenty), more body/extraction, and the complete package. A real winner.
