Thursday, January 21, 2021 - Gevrey-Chambertin (Northside) 1er Cru Tasting (Chicagoland): In 97/02/09/10 vertical. Very dark color. Very reductive start, SO2 never fully dissipated (despite being open 3 hours before serving), so I would suggest decanting. Once past all that reduction...there is so much here, coming across as both massive and texturally elegant (somehow) at the same time. I think this has further upside as more earthy nuance should/ will come through, but others thought it at its zenith right now. Only time will tell.
