Saturday, April 24, 2021 - Perfect ending to a family birthday celebration, enjoyed with German Chocolate Cake. Displays a clear garnet color, impressive at 40+ years. Medium body and high alcohol, almost port like. Aromas and flavors are quite complex and layered: roasted pecans and nuts, dried cherries, cooked raspberries, reduced brown sugar, fruit cake, old spice box, and decaying leaves. Acidity balances the fruit providing harmony and a medium finish. Very, very nice. This is drinking very well and should continue to do so for many years to come.
