Friday, May 7, 2021 - OK, here we go. This is definitely not your "pretty delicate flower" CA pinot. Quite the opposite. This is big, bold, rich pinot with lots of body and power (for a pinot). The color is dark and dense, and the nose is in your face with cinnamon stick and black cherry. A shrinking violet this is not. This is weighty stuff, but with enough fruit to balance out what must be relatively high (slightly noticeable, but that is a quibble) alcohol. Drinking beautifully at age six, it seems to be right in the middle of its sweet spot. I would opt for drinking now to capture all of the lovely ripe fruit. 5-13-15-8: 91/100.
