Tuesday, July 20, 2021 - Fresh, juicy, and lifted, while featuring strong terroir markers, including drying tobacco, funk, and the charred earth element for which Pessac-Léognan is known. Plum, pomegranate, and raspberry driven Merlot showed prominently, draping the blackcurrant, pepper garden, gravel, and graphite of Cabernet Sauvignon. We drained the bottle quickly. A few years in the cellar will do it no harm. Likely to pair spectacularly with fowl dishes, duck in particular.
