Saturday, August 21, 2021 - Pale magenta. Nose heavily influenced by stems in the forefront, followed by a savory, darker fruit profile. Some earthy loam in the background with air. Similar on the palate again with stems on the palate and dark, savory character. High acidity spiking at times with medium+ still drying tannins but smooth and not bitter at all. No hints of oak at all even though I'm sure it's been aged in oak.

Really unique wine that prominently has a strong stemmy character. I haven't really seen this degree of whole cluster character in wines outside of some northern rhones and beaujolais. Very unique. Wine is well made without intrusive oak, but it definitely caters to particular palates. Further bottle age unlikely to subsume the stemmy flavors as it's a core element of this wine and probably a signature of this particular producer. This wine is not typical for either Oregon or Burgundy -- it's unique in and of itself. People who appreciate this style may rate this much higher.
