Friday, July 30, 2021 - shared with pat at selkirk manor. celebrating respite from covid-19 pandemic before new variants take hold. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. was holding on to this bottle as a souvenir of our dinner with the winemaker at Nicholas Restaurant. I am not aware of any other california winemaker growing these grapes or making this blend. 50% grenache blanc, 45% rousanne, 5% marsanne. an interesting change up from what we typically drink. the wine shows a nuanced assemblage of multiple flavor characteristics ranging from sweet (honey) to tart (semi ripe peach). demands careful attention. a great summer drink to have with light fair. would buy again.
