Monday, November 8, 2021 - Open 5 days, corked in fridge and still good; less obvious vanilla and sweetness to the fruit than previously tasted 5-6 years ago, the sweet oak may be gone but this has picked up a somewhat bitter oak tannin quality to the texture, lots of darker richer fruit, some licorice, dried herbs, dried roses and red cherries, notions of clay topsoil; terracotta on the palate with cedar tobacco and darker spicier fruit with a shorter meaty finish, ferrous dusty cedar and singed herbs take you nowhere but the Tuscan hillsides which is why I can’t hate drinking this but can’t also can’t get a ton of joy from it either.
