Tuesday, November 16, 2021 - Opened last night. Still amazingly dark. Nose has big-time crunchy raspberry fruit that just fills the senses. Effusively fruity! Not terribly complex, just really intense. Mouth has much of the same, with a harder, more acidic edge to the fruit. Astringent, in a good way. This is drinking well now, and I am curious to see how it will evolve over another five years or so, as I have little experience with aged Beaujolais. Unfolds nicely into the finish. Would be an excellent food wine with lots of different things. Really shows me that Beaujolais can be a truly serious wine. 4-13-16-8: 91/100.
