Wednesday, December 1, 2021 - Small Bordeaux gathering (Clarity - Vienna, Virginia): Beautifully mature complex nose displaying sweet white and yellow fruit, apple, baked apple, lemon curd, marzipan, a hint of sherry, burnt sugar, oyster shell, brioche and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated white and yellow fruit, very fine generous mousse, rich but nicely balanced, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, and a seamless long ripe white and yellow fruit driven finish. The oxidative note and marzipan reminds me Selosse initial a bit. Now that initial is trading above $300, this represents a much better option for me. Very complete champagne.
