Sunday, April 10, 2022 - Very different bottle from the one that I had four or five years ago. This was very savory and just screaming for food. Big tomato leaf notes right from the outset, with big doses of balsamic, then dried cherries, figs, bits of orange zest, cloves and baking spice. The tannins are very well integrated, although they can be just a touch grainy towards the finish. Med+ acid keeps it bright and adds a bit of structure. Med++ on the finish. This good on its own, but truly came alive and kicked in an extra gear when paired with tomato, pesto and burrata. Probably at or near peak, with several years left in reserve.
