Saturday, August 20, 2022 - Cold decant 2 hours, then warmed to ~65F. The nose shows a beautiful fresh cut red/black berry and cooking spices that point to the majority zinfandel. Violets and a little bit of dried red/black fruits further add dimensions to this wine.

On the palate, the carignan starts to add more layers of spices and a silky mouthfeel. The zinfandel delivers what it promised on the nose. The finish is dominated by the spices on the palate, and that made it all the better paired with steak.

This was drank with a duck fat dry aged steak, and the fruit, spices and acidity all elevated what the flavorful steak. Great wine with a price that makes you feel good about it.
