Thursday, July 7, 2016 - Wondered why I had no CT note on this wine but found my written note from a couple years ago which reminds me not to touch the other bottle for a good long while: surprisingly deep garnet core with orange rim; nose of rich dark red fruit, roses. Beautiful candied fruit, with gamey and spice undertones; acid still there but in perfect balance giving a superb satiny texture. Surprisingly less tertiary qualities than the equally outstanding ‘69 Pierre Ponnelle Musigny it was paired up against. It could have used more of that autumnal quality I love so much in old burgundy. But spectacularly great nonetheless. (Reportedly made by Jean Gros) 96+
