-- tasted non-blind over 5.5 hours --
NOSE: noticeably “younger” and fruitier than the ’71; interesting note of cinnamon; Christmas candle --- pine, cinnamon, and nutmeg; honey; hint of bloomy rind cheese after 3.5 hours; very nice --- I prefer the Nose on this ’75 over the Nose on the ’71.
BODY: deep, golden orange color (amber); full bodied
TASTE: gently sweet; not as oxidized as the ’71; golden raisins; less acidity than the ’71; dried apricot on the finish; obviously fresher than the ’71, but I think I may prefer the ’71 for its acidity; pleasant spiciness here --- some kind of orange-fruited sorbet note that’s really quite nice – persimmon or apricot; 13% abv not noticeable; acidity is adequate, if not a bit low; I’m not sure I see this getting any better, so I’d Drink Now; perhaps deserves a higher score for being in such great shape at this age.
