Saturday, May 27, 2017 - Medium garnet color lightening up a little towards the rim. Pretty explosive nose of crushed rocks, bacon, some leather, spices, also some gamey notes and some peach (probably from the Viognier), also some floral notes and some tobacco. It's pretty full-bodied but with good structure of medium-high acidity and medium+ tannin. Good length. An interesting Syrah from Washington that is pretty big, but not over-the-top and has nice freshness too. It's not the last word about complexity but fun to drink.
