Thursday, December 29, 2011 - Someone left this bottle at our house during the holidays, and I thought it'd be fun to pair it up with a decent Bourgogne for a cage match: two go in, one comes out. Well, first off, this baby's clocking in at 14.3% a.b.v. POW! Medium maroon color. Fast, watery legs. Initial nose has big, ripe fruit, almost smells like mixed berry flavored jell-o. Initial palate is a strawberry kool-aid ice cream float, fruit and vanilla. Plush and fleshy, turning big and blowsy as it opens. The mid-palate is very one dimensional. The finish absolutely drops right off the map, hollow as a two-week old jack-o'-lantern. Not my cup o' tea (or wine). Pass.
