90 Points

Sunday, September 18, 2011 - A friend of mine who met the wine maker himself this year, shared the 1999 with us today. Interesting nose with camphor, menthol, ripe plum, prunes and some sweetness that is normally found in more Amarone type wines. A brownish tone but otherwise ruby red. On the palate this was heavy and full bodied, but the interplay between acidity and tannins was slightly unbalanced. I suspect this is already slightly past the ideal drinking age. Nonetheless a decent effort from a (at least to me) lesser know producer.
