Friday, November 1, 2013 - Decanted for an hour. Our first glasses were monolithic and very tannic, with slighty sour red cherry as the dominant flavor. The wine continued to open up over the next hour and a half. By then raspberries, cedar and violets, and soft black licorice had entered the mix, and the tannins had calmed down considerably. We sure wish we had left it in the decanter longer.
