Friday, December 14, 2012 - This is a very interesting and big Chambolle. Big Fruit nose after the initial funk blew off. The raspberry and black cherry was very obvious at first, then the wood seems a bit to predominant but then fades back a bit. After things settle down and the earthy forest floor and mushroom, start to come into play. The strange spices started popping up, anise, a touch of clove and cinnamon. A decent finish, but not tremendously long but the acids and tannin are there, and this is a nice representation of a village wine, though the ABV is a little like an '03, but with more time, things might just get more focused and integrated at the same time. Excellent.
