Sunday, June 7, 2015 - Strong and typical Oregon/RR on the nose and at first taste. On opening, the wine was a touch hot, but mellowed after several minutes. Cherries and stone fruits laden with volcanic soil minerality at first. Unfortunately, after 10-15 seconds, a powerful bitterness overwhelms the palate - thought I was sucking on a handful of pennies. I am saving the bottle for one more day to see if it improves - but I am withholding my optimism.
