89 Points

Saturday, September 22, 2012 - This bottle had thrown a noticeable tartrate crust on the cork but otherwise was sediment free. Intense but deep aromas of sweet vanilla oak and undergrowth / earth. With breathing, developed lovely juicy blackberry and sweeter blackcurrant fruit pastilles. The tannins are silky soft and the acidity is beautifully balanced. On the finish, the earthy notes mingle with floral violet flavours I associate with blackberry. Delicious, not a show wine - just very well poised, and at its peak.
