Monday, July 10, 2006 - Tasted blind at Jim's. The wine had been decanted and open for several hours. I had the last glass. No mistaking its origins. Fading to the rim, distinctive nose of lead pencil, currant and cedar. Fruit receding and a little dusty, the tannins were seemingly outrunning the fruit. I guessed '88 Cos d'Estournel, though I was going back and forth with Ducru in my mind. This vintage is quite true to its reputation.
