Developing nose of straight blackcurrants – just shouts cabernet, and the spicy earthiness says Coonawarra too. Seems surprisingly young on the palate for a decade-old second wine, although the seams begin to show a bit, with the sweet ripe currant fruit quickly giving way to a dryish finish becoming more assertive, even strident. There are low/medium dusty tannins, controlled oak, medium acid and medium weight, although the wine dips a bit on the mid-palate. No need to keep this longer.
