90 Points

Wednesday, October 20, 2010 - This wine has all the gamay funk without any extremes, just nicely allocated between nose and taste, funk and centeredness, it's great. Tested on well-aired bottle, 3+ hours. Round, embracing, and alluring nose of light strawberry-raspberry syrup, hint of nail polish, a touch of smoky leaves, hints of minty herbs. In the mouth features a thick yet watery rush of firm slightly bitter, meaty, chewy, smoky fruit (plum, dark cherry, blackberry, perhaps some sour apple and cranberry) mixed with mineral salts and stone. Finishes of wet stone, smoke, and metallic fruit. Oh just wonderful. I bought a bottle. 13% abv. Dry. Body medium minus, acid medium, tannin medium or lower.
