Lovely fresh blueberry and then blackberry fruit initially. It grows in the glass becoming fresher and the fruits slightly lighter - perhaps even some strawberry. I am so glad I gave this some proper ageing time.

PNP. Cork perfect. Color dark ruby. Nose dark cherry and spice. Swishing shows spicy tannin and some acid but there is rich fruit. Sipping this shows great density polish and a weight that surprises - as does the length which is medium and unusual for Gamay. I have had some concerns about the 09 bojos but this one is solid, and has plenty left in the tank. Really nice tonight too. Sadly my last bottle.

Deep, deep purple. Berry sniff and a smooth dry taste. Medium tannin. For the price ($17) , I use this as a high end general table wine on special occasions when needing red. Good stuff for the price.

8/26/2012 Purple-brick color; deeper than expected. Medium fruit on the nose (berries?). Medium body and medium- finish, a bit of tannin. Perhaps a bit of spice. (Bigger and more tannic than expected; decent, and good value, but not quite together enough to be a great value.) 86--89 pts.

Ruby with purple rim. Lovely nose of which is fresh and sweet with red fruits and earthy herbs. Light bodied. Red fruits on a structured palate with a solid'ish core (? granite). Moderate length. Not jammy at all. Very enjoyable.

Dark brooding core with lovely purple rim. Fresh, sweet red fruity nose with some mint and thyme. Tight, a bit edgy with a tannic bite. Palate is not as expressive the nose - red fruits, more woody herbs, eucalyptus and a touch of wood and pepper. Moderate length. Think needs a bit more bottle age before it starts to sing!

Really stunning, fresh nose. I get sweet, almost effervescent blueberries (as if it's possible to smell that), mint, basil and sweat. The palate is a little less intriguing with bright, light red fruit showing and a hint of fresh green herbs. This is really wonderful, easy weeknight drinker.

I haven't had many '09 Beaujolais, but this one lives up to the vintage hype. Dark clear ruby. Opulent nose of cherry pie, banana, and a little earth. Lovely medium palate of cherry, cranberry, and minerals. More savory flavor than expected. Nice finish with lots of Gamay typicity. Refreshing acidity. Silky tannins. I liked it a lot. Full disclosure: my wife thought it just "ok".

popped and poured was very tight so passed thru vinturi. color dark ruby with purplish rim. nose showing plum and cherry, with some meaty aromas and hints of iodine or VA. on palate, this has bright plum and cherries with medium weight supported by appropriate acid and mild tannin. flavors cling to the cheeks for a longer than expected (for a beaujolais) finish. very nice and in no danger of falling apart.

Another excellent 09 Beaujolais. Very fruit driven with cranberries and dark cherries, but with a nice slate background. When the acidity hits at the end it makes your mouth salivate - an outstanding food wine. Perhaps not the longest finish ever and may not be the longest lasting of the vintage, but still totally enjoyable now. I bought a case of 09 Bojo last weekend and this makes me want to buy another case of various producers.

Quite nice. Ruby with a brilliant purple rim. Nose is all Gamay -- tropical fruit, a touch of tart cherry and mineral. All the same in the mouth -- cherry/cranberry, some mineral, a little tropical fruit (papaya?). Finishes with a little woodsmoke on stone. High acidity, light bodied, so it's a little off-balance for drinking straight out, but it's absolutely GREAT with food.
Drink through 2015, perhaps longer.

A little tight on the nose with some grapey gamay aromas lurking around. Nicely concentrated and tannic. Might have used a decant, actually. Very nice.

This wine has all the gamay funk without any extremes, just nicely allocated between nose and taste, funk and centeredness, it's great. Tested on well-aired bottle, 3+ hours. Round, embracing, and alluring nose of light strawberry-raspberry syrup, hint of nail polish, a touch of smoky leaves, hints of minty herbs. In the mouth features a thick yet watery rush of firm slightly bitter, meaty, chewy, smoky fruit (plum, dark cherry, blackberry, perhaps some sour apple and cranberry) mixed with mineral salts and stone. Finishes of wet stone, smoke, and metallic fruit. Oh just wonderful. I bought a bottle. 13% abv. Dry. Body medium minus, acid medium, tannin medium or lower.

No detailed tasting notes because I had a cold and couln't taste very well. Travis said it was pretty good, but I don't think it was worth the price.

Agree with dynowine's terrific note. Significantly better than the 09 duboeuf morgon. (That is fine for $10, however.)
