Thursday, April 26, 2012 - There's a very high delicious factor here--the moment I pull the cork I'm hit with that old familiar scent: piquillo, herbs, spicy oak, dried cherries, dusty earth, and all that carries over onto the juicy and long palate. Texturally the oak is already integrated, and I rather like what it adds to the nose. Trouble is; I'm not sure this is really so superior to past vintages. On the other hand, it's still quite an inexpensive wine, and I'll probably be picking up a case.
