Very expressive and showing plenty of complexity. The nose and palate are lively and precocious. There is some tartness that made me wonder about tartaric additions. It's not way out of balance give the expression of the fruit now but it certainly seemed more tart than a red should be. On the second night this went more subtle showing some more mature leather and balsamic notes. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Really good but don't put it in front of wood-o-phobes. It is a classic Rioja in most respects.
