Sunday, December 29, 2019 - Expressive nose displaying perfectly ripe black fruit, blackberry, sap, sandalwood, rose, a hint of sweet spices and earth. Nicely integrated palate, finely layered pure blackfruit, silky and fresh, medium acidity, good mineral expression, nicely integrated tannins and a medium to long black fruit driven finish. It is surprisingly fresh and pure. Perhaps another decade to reach the peak. This is a classic Volnay.
