Sunday, January 17, 2021 - Cherry and ink on the nose. Dry, but with an illusion of sweet red fruit on the attack. Medium-bodied, with balanced acidity and no discernible tannins. I admittedly don't drink much Burgundy, but if I had tasted this blind, I might have guessed this was a youngish New World PN (perhaps Oregon) from a ripe vintage. The wine is so forward and enjoyable that I hardly advise anyone to hold off on this; yet it is also stunningly primary and young for an 11-year-old wine. If I had several more bottles, I would certainly hold a few back to see how it will evolve.
