Color working toward light tawny overtones; bouquet a bit reticent but great subtle nuances of red fruits and some spice; soft tannins but still a good structure. Balance is outstanding with fruit and secondary aromas, such as saddle leather and forest floor. Outstanding!

Second bottle. Much better than the first: just a touch funkier, with absolutely vibrant cherry fruit and a hint of soft tannin on the finish. Brilliant.

Cherry and ink on the nose. Dry, but with an illusion of sweet red fruit on the attack. Medium-bodied, with balanced acidity and no discernible tannins. I admittedly don't drink much Burgundy, but if I had tasted this blind, I might have guessed this was a youngish New World PN (perhaps Oregon) from a ripe vintage. The wine is so forward and enjoyable that I hardly advise anyone to hold off on this; yet it is also stunningly primary and young for an 11-year-old wine. If I had several more bottles, I would certainly hold a few back to see how it will evolve.

At its peak -- the nose gradually opened over dinner. very soft and supple on the palate. Well balanced with good structure.

This bottle seemed a little more progressed than the last, but still delicious.
