Saturday, February 2, 2013 - This has to be my favorite Argentinian wine under $20. I've about decided I can't stand 100% Malbec...just too flabby and without structure. But this is a blend of 60% Malbec, 26% Cab, 10% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. The other varietals add backbone, more varied aromatics, and a nice finish. It is very smooth but had plenty of earth and tobacco to balance the plummy fruitiness of the Malbec. The 2007 was excellent, this is almost as good. 1st of 3 bottles.
