Brooding on the nose and palate, with kirsch, plum and berry. Ripe tannins and just enough acidity for a good backbone and long finish. An open, friendly style.

59/16/15/5/5 Malbec/Merlot/Cab Sauv/Syrah/Petit Verdot. Nose jumps out with spice and dark fruit. Dark color. Palette has dark black and blue fruit, big structure, very nice QPR.

Très bon vin. Tannique a souhait, son goût en bouche est persistant. Réglisse, bois hickory fumé, tels sont les saveurs retenues. Fortement recommandé.

I bought this based on the hype from my wine-seller and IWC, but was disappointed. Not a bad wine by any means, but compared with the recommendations and the price I found it flabby, boring, and definitely not worth the $20. There are dozens of better Argentinians. I will taste a second bottle to be fair to the others who seem to like it.

This has to be my favorite Argentinian wine under $20. I've about decided I can't stand 100% Malbec...just too flabby and without structure. But this is a blend of 60% Malbec, 26% Cab, 10% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. The other varietals add backbone, more varied aromatics, and a nice finish. It is very smooth but had plenty of earth and tobacco to balance the plummy fruitiness of the Malbec. The 2007 was excellent, this is almost as good. 1st of 3 bottles.
