1964 Cappellano Barolo

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

Wednesday, March 6, 2019 - Utterly seductive bouquet, elegant fudge and caramel, herbal notes, rose water, there's also gentle presence of tar and black tea which are typical to aged Barolos, extremely good balance between fruit, resolved tannins and acidity, a really classy wine which is drinking perfectly now, I do not see this developing but will last. My favourite in the vertical of 1978, 1974, 1971, 1970, 1969, 1968 and 1964. I understand that some preferred the 1971 which has a lot of layers and is still developing but this one won me over with its seductive qualities.
