The earthy nose displays age, the palate is austere and quite still quite tannic, a bit blunt fruit profile, rose water, licorice, violets, hints of iron and moist forest floor. Lengthy mouth drying finish. Asili is one my favorite MGAs and the vintage is great but have to say the style here is somewhat challenging because of the diminishing fruit and clearly present tannins.

Decanted in the morning, consumed in the evening. Good concentration without being heavy, quite approachable despite the young age and slightly polished, modernist sheen. Sort of early drinking vintage. On the palate lovely rose petals, orange peel and black tea. Refreshing acidity and surprisingly civilized tannins, lengthy and attractive finish. A tasty entry level Barolo from an expensive top brass producer, I liked this quite a bit more than anticipated, most def. will improve with time though.

Upon opening this is quite shy but after one hour of aeration gains power while retaining its delicate LN character. Nicely savory and fresh, this displays terroir. The palate is filled with wild strawberries, dry cherries, leather, roses and minerals. Slightly gum during fruit tannin provides structure and makes this also a food wine. Good medium finish with flavors of red berries. Another lovely example of expressive and attractive vintage 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo.
