Saturday, December 14, 2013 - This bottle was very comparable to a bottle tasted almost one year ago. The nose was a bit muted after 45 minutes in the glass, but offered dark cassis, plum, incense, and currant. On the palate, this continues to have very crisp acidity, with sturdy yet balanced tannic structure. There is a good palate evolving array of mocha, roasted coffee, and blackberries that offer a nice lingering finish. There is a smoky vanilla that hangs on the back palate. Given how well this has held up over the past year, I believe this has at least 5-7 years of energy in the glass, and likely will still be enjoyable in ten years if well stored.

After being open for four hours, the nose adds cedar, the length on the palate actually gets longer, and the crispness is quite refreshing.
