Tuesday, October 31, 2006 - Opened 2 hours before consumption and left standing. Some orange / lightening at the rim shows this is maturing already. Immense pure nose of meat/blood, tar, roses, fennel, sweet cherries and cranberries, salty earth. Very well integrated and well built with great acidic verve, some healthy tannic bite remaining but secondary characteristics emerging already. Surprisingly full bodied and dense on the palate yet still pure and focused. Finishes with nice length with some slightly drying/puckering tannins. Huge typicity and purity and showing well now but give it a couple more years - still some room to improve a bit...
