Friday, October 9, 2015 - Completely different wine since the previous bottle. The wine has hit a plateau in my opinion after this experience. Decanted for 30 minutes but followed it over 4 hours, it did not evolve or change at all...stayed constant. The nose had raisin, fig, herbs, cloves, some earthiness, mushrooms. The taste was like a madeira with the roasted notes, same raisin/fig flavors, but nice cherry flavors to balance out all the secondary and tertiary flavors. The wine was balanced and paired very well with all the food at the Italian themed tasting. Very interesting experience.
