Wednesday, October 20, 2004 - Didn't decant this (probably should've, as it started to open up more as the evening wore on). Had with friends at Town Hall in SF. Opaque purple, refined aromas of black fruits and smoke, the oak not obtrusive at all. Like silk on the palate, with gobs of plummy berry fruit framed by sweet tannin. Not at all hot on the palate. Glad I've got 2 bottles left! Bring on the '02s!!
