Friday, August 20, 2021 - The '07 Rocche was insanely beautiful, and adds to a small group of great wines I've had in a vintage that I think is aging unevenly. The nose was intensely perfumed with very sweet, hard candy-like dark red to black fruit, sweet spice, tar, licorice, smoke, and exotic floral aromas. The palate was super finessed - concentrated but perfectly smooth with no perception of tannin. I found very sweet dark red fruits, sweet spices, and balsamic, leading into a long finish of dark floral aromas, balsamic spices, and hard candy like red fruit.

Like the few great '07s I've had, the Rocche shows the ripeness of the vintage in a slightly sweeter than normal, slightly exotic profile, while maintaining a high level of freshness.
