Tuesday, March 22, 2011 - Barrel sample. The winemaking process on this was that they did most of the wine in tank, but about 1/4 was done in neutral barrels, no new wood at all. In fact, no additions to the wine at all and as Jim said, this is really about the fruit talking in a pure form. Spicy and energetic on the palate, with tangerine, lime and a note I got of anise/fennel. It has a persistent quality about it with a finish of lemon zest and mango/papaya.
