Drinking it tonight, residual tannins still strong but softening out, some late summer fruit and overall a balanced, approachable and enjoyable wine. I don't think it's bottle variation, perhaps this wine was just closed down and is now opening? A shame I've been disappointed by 7 bottles and now find a wine I like.
