Had assumed this would be drifting off but its precise, garnet coloured with a tinge of orange/brown on the rim. Delicate / almost burgundian but enough structure and fruit to be really enjoyable. I don't think it will get any better but there appears no rush to drink. Much better than I expected and from my notes I bought it for £14 - what a bargain.

Still light and fresh, fruit driven but with enough structure. 10-15 seconds of length. Not hugely sophisticated but a real pleasure to drink. My notes say I paid £23/bottle if I could still find it at that price I'd fill up.

I've been drinking this wine over the last 6 years and had written it off, overly structured, harsh tannins, closed, tar, bitter to the point of being unattractive (low/mid 80's at best), not like other years at all. Drinking it tonight, residual tannins still strong but softening out, some late summer fruit and overall a balanced, approachable and enjoyable wine. I don't think it's bottle variation, perhaps this wine was just closed down and is now opening? A shame I've been disappointed by 7 bottles and now find a wine I like.
