90 Points

Tuesday, February 22, 2022 - It's a nice cab, but overpriced. I have tasted over 20 of these. Core issue is the cheap cork they used. It's a shame since the bottle is costly. From the 20 I have tried this one is solid with no flaws. Several have had flaws. I think it from importing grapes from who knows where. Thus a lot a variability in the wine.

3/3/2022 6:30:00 PM - The majority of the grapes I believe come from Rutherford. Everything is sourced from one of the appelations in the valley. Don't know about the source of the corks.

3/3/2022 7:12:00 PM - I visited the Hall home/winery up on Rutherford mountain about 12 years ago. Impressive place. Views are amazing. Halls have a big art collection as well.

I find cork quality to not have longevity from many of the vintners in CA so it is not specific to just hall. Tonight I am trying a 2007 Nickel & Nickel cab and the cork broke. I could still extract it like a surgeon. Wine is still perfect.
