Sunday, March 22, 2015 - A year ago, I was very underwhelmed by this - too raisiny and port-like. This time, based on my observation and other members' notes, I opened it about 90 minutes before drinking. Serving with BBQ didn't hurt, either. Anyway, immediately after opening, it tasted raisiny and port-like. 90 minutes later, it was almost effervescent and the sweetness had subsided. An hour after that, the effervescence had been replaced by a pleasant tingling on the tongue. 30 minutes later, the tingling was gone. At every stage, however, it showed a fairly plush texture and a solid finish. God only knows what it would have evolved into an hour after that, because it was gone by then. Ultimately, anybody's score on this will depend on precisely how long after opening it's tasted. I went from 84 to 88 to 92 to 89.
