Saturday, August 11, 2012 - Popped and poured. Medium-plus youthful purple/garnet hue. The fruit really shows on the nose, with notes of crushed dark berries, ripe currant & cassis complimented by subtle herbaceous notes and vanilla spice from toasted oak. Medium-plus body. On the palate, flavors of mixed dark fruits are fresh and somewhat jammy. As on the nose, the fruit is again paired with rich flavors from the oak. The tannins are actually quite soft on the moderate-plus close. A Cabernet made more in the modern style, this wine is meant for enjoying near term before the fruit fades away.
