2008 Cigliuti Langhe Briccoserra

Likes this wine:

Saturday, April 9, 2011 - High price for a Langhe Rosso, but it is well worth it. I learned only afterwards that this is a 50/50 mix of Nebbiolo and Barbera, and that explains a lot. The Nebbiolo elements dominate the picture, with flowers, roses, some liqourice etc, but it has a darker and smoother fruitiness that I imagine is a result of the Barbera. Rich in the mouth and with a long dry finish. Excellent wine, want to put some in the cellar. Enjoyed with a slow roasted shoulder of lamb, great match
