Wednesday, June 30, 2021 - Decanted an hour before service, with significant amounts of fine sediment in the bottle. In the glass, still relatively youthful in color, although the first signs of auburn were present at the rim. On the nose, a sharp high-toned note, not quite pine or cedar, but somewhere in that vicinity? On the palate, cycling between nail polish, olive tapenade, beef blood, and ground pepper, with structured but not overbearing tannins on a moderately long finish. Despite the suggestion of age in its appearance, I think this wine may still be at the early edge of its drinking window.
