Saturday, January 22, 2011 - Good everyday wine, chocolate and a little bit of olive on the nose, chocolate and olives and currants and plums on the midpalate (just like they say) and a little bit of burnt toast too, medium finish. I found the tannins and acidity a little lacking though. Not a quaffer, you'll pause for a bit but not something you're going to find yourself endlessly sticking your nose in and savoring. I had the regular Koonunga Hill bottling in Emirates steerage class and it wasn't as good as this, but then again, we were at 37,000 feet. (Props to Emirates for buying recognizable wine).
